HANEEF NELSON, a revered performer and educator, takes the stage with Tyler Sherman on bass and Scott Sasanecki on guitar. Kick back as he explores a mix of Jazz, Bossa Nova & R&B leaning into a mix of music from his childhood and life-long musical journey. Haneef has performed around the globe with the likes of Yoron Israel, Avery Sharpe, Bill Saxton, and Paul Brown among many others.
Born in Brooklyn and raised in Uniondale, NY, HANEEF NELSON was introduced to the trumpet at age 12 and began studying with the Jazzmobile before entering the Long Island High School of the Arts. He attended the African-American Music Department at the Hartt School and studied with Jackie McLean as well as Steve Davis, Nat Reeves, Raymond Williams, Chris Casey, Mary DiPaola, and Roger Murtha. His original music and Big Band arrangements have been featured around the world.
