Leffingwell Opens with the General in the House

Hear ye, Hear ye, Come to Leffingwell House on April 18 for the 2026 Season Opening and a visit with General George Washington. The day begins at 11am with cannon fire commemorating the “Shot heard around the World’ at Lexington, followed by Flag raising by Norwich Scouts. Watch as General Washington reviews all Militia units present. Enjoy a visit with the General, discover why he visits Norwich and his learn about his future plans in the conflict with the British. View a display of Washington historic artifacts. Have a taste of delicious Colonial Chocolate by Pewter Pot Fine Spiced Chocolate. On the museum grounds, interact with Living History Presenters in the Lebanon Militia-crafters, physician & camp lifestyle, the Kings Loyal Americans (the Loyalists) and make a purchase from the colonial sutler-Big Bear Trading Company.   Will there be a confrontation between the Loyalists and the Militia? Join us and find out! Experience History at Leffingwell!
