Jane’s Walk: A Southington Walking Tour

Join the Barnes Museum in partnership with Preservation Connecticut for a special Jane’s Walk, part of an international movement inspired by urbanist and preservationist Jane Jacobs (1916-2006), who championed walkable communities and the stories found in the everyday places we engage with.

Led by Christina Volpe, Curator of the Barnes Museum, this leisurely, drop-in walking tour will begin at the Barnes Museum and travel to Factory Square, continue up to the Town Green, and return to the museum. Along the way, participants will explore the people, places, and history that have shaped Southington’s built environment and community life. This year's focus will also be on the Southington Town Green and it's significance as a place of remembrance and community.

Following the walk, guests are invited to enjoy a self-guided tour of the first floor of the Barnes Museum.

No registration required.
