Guided Kayaking: Tree Swallow Migration. Naturalist Led, Intermediate Tour, All Equipment Included.
Each year, hundreds of thousands of migrating tree swallows converge on Goose Island in Old Lyme, Connecticut, to use the island as a protected, communal roost. At dusk, the birds take to the skies, performing a mesmerizing murmuration of synchronized, swirling patterns. As daylight fades, the flock shifts into a dramatic, tornado-like funnel before rapidly plunging into the safety of the marsh grass for the night.
All equipment (kayak, paddle, PFD, navigation lights, dry bag, and custom field guide) included.
Intermediate trip due to length, location, time of day, and current. Feel free to call if you have questions or concerns.
