Guided Kayaking: Sunset and Fireflies in a Freshwater Tidal Marsh

Glide through the vibrant summer colors of the Coginchaug and Mattabesset rivers on a beginner-friendly sunset paddle through the heart of the freshwater tidal marsh. We will navigate lush aquatic gardens blanketed in stunning yellow waterlilies and the spiked purple blooms of pickerelweed during the sunset. As the light fades from the sky, the fireflies will start their show in the forest and grasses of the riverbank. We will paddle back to our launch in the dark enjoying the stars in the sky. All equipment, kayaks, paddles, PFDs, lights, and a star chart are included. Naturalist led tour.

5% of the proceeds from this trip will be donated to the Jonas Center for Earth and Art for their role in protecting the Coginchaug River and Floating Meadows.
