Guided Kayaking Ecotour: Sunset/ Moon tour of the East River Marsh Wildlife Area | All Equipment Included

Join us as we explore one of Connecticut’s most ecologically rich coastal wetlands. We’ll begin our journey during the golden hour, when the marsh glows with warm evening light. As the sun sets, we’ll paddle back under the moonlight, a peaceful way to experience this vibrant ecosystem.

The East River’s expansive marsh is an important habitat where fresh water from inland streams meets the tides of Long Island Sound. We’ll paddle through broad stretches of salt marsh grasses that shelter nesting birds, crustaceans, and young fish. Watch for snowy egrets, great blue herons, oystercatchers, and ospreys diving for their next meal. At low tide, exposed mudflats become a buffet for willets, yellowlegs, and other shorebirds probing for invertebrates.

This trip is ideal for people who feel comfortable in a kayak and are able to turn left and right. All equipment is included: kayaks, PFDs, paddles, dry bags, and educational materials. Please reach out if you have questions or concerns.
