GNACC Annual Duck Race

Get ready for a QUACKtastic event that promises a splash of excitement and heaps of fun!

This year, approximately 3,000 rubber racing ducks will tumble, splash, bob, and slosh down the Yantic River racing to the finish line to win "QUACK"tacular prizes for their adopters!

The event will be held in Yantic in the Fireman’s Field, next to the Yantic Fire Department from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm on Saturday, June 7, 2025 (Rain Date:tba). The Duck Race begins at 1:00 pm.  The GNACC Duck Race is a family-friendly community event filled with fun for all ages!

Adopt a Duck: For just $5, you can adopt your very own rubber racing duck! Your adoption not only enters you into the race but also supports a good cause.  Ticket Sales open May 1st.

Cheer on Your Duck on Saturday, June 7th: Join us at the riverbank to cheer on your adopted duck as it races to victory. Bring your friends and family for a day filled with laughter, community spirit, and the joy of friendly competition.

Support a Worthy Cause: This year, the ticket proceeds from The Great Duck Race will support The ARC Eastern Connecticut and GNACC. The Arc Eastern Connecticut is a non-profit organization founded in 1952 by families in both northeastern and southeastern Connecticut who sought opportunities for their children who at the time were not welcome in the public school system. Today The Arc serves over 800 people of all ages and offers advocacy, employment opportunities, in-home supports, life skills training, recreation, supported residences, and person-centered, community based services.  Your participation ensures that the fun we have together also contributes to the well-being of our local community.
