"Inner Play" Multi-Fragments of Creation

Opening Reception: Saturday, February 7 | 6:30–8:00 PM

On View: For the month of February

Location: Village Center for the Arts. 12 Main Street, New Milford, CT

Village Center for the Arts presents "Inner Play" Multi-Fragments of Creation, a February exhibition featuring the work of multidisciplinary artist Patricia Porco. The exhibition opens with a public reception on Saturday, February 7, from 6:30 to 8:00 PM, and will be on view throughout the month of February.

Born in Colombia and living in the United States since 1991, Patricia is a self-taught artist who uses art as a way to explore emotion, identity, and personal narrative. “I love to explore different media and express myself through art,” she says.

Her work spans clay sculpture, watercolor, oil, and encaustic, with a strong emphasis on sculptural forms. One recurring subject is the pig—an intentional and playful reference to her name, as Porco means pig in Italian. Travel is also a key influence, particularly time spent in Mexico, where she was inspired by the Katrinas of Día de los Muertos and their symbolism of memory and transformation.

Inner Play: Multi-Fragments of Creation invites viewers into a layered and intuitive creative world that balances personal meaning with joyful experimentation.

The opening reception is free and open to the public.

Refreshments will be served.
