Family Program: Noopura Naadam – The Sound of Ankle Bells

During this FREE drop-in family program, all ages can experience and enjoy the traditional Indian art forms of Kuchipudi Dance and Carnatic music that embody stories from ancient scriptures. Learn about the cultural, social, and historical significance of this art form. Performances will take place from 11:30 – 12:15 and again from 1:00 – 1:45.

Join us for special dance performances by Layavinyasa Company! During this FREE drop-in program, all ages can experience and enjoy the traditional Indian art forms of Kuchipudi Dance and Carnatic music that embody stories from ancient scriptures. Sarada Nori is an accomplished performer and teacher of two classical art forms from India – Kuchipudi dance and Carnatic music. She has been trained in these arts by leading exponents and holds a Masters degree specializing in Kuchipudi. Sarada is the founder and artistic director of Layavinyasa, an organization that promotes these art forms in the New England region through training in Kuchipudi dance and Carnatic music, cross-cultural artistic collaboration, and public outreach.
