Faerie Ring Revels at The Connecticut Renaissance Faire
The fae are not all flower crowns and gentle whimsy. Faerie Ring Revels doesn't pretend otherwise. September 26 and 27, the Faire belongs to the full fairy court: the luminous and the eerie, the sunlit and the shadowed, the sprites who delight and the ones who unsettle.
Saturday is the Fairy Costume Contest. Light folk and shadow folk are equal contenders. Radiant wings, dark glamour, delicate beauty, dangerous charm. The whole court is invited to the stage. Judges are looking for creativity, presence, and the sense that you stepped straight out of another world. If you've ever felt drawn to the wild places and the hidden paths, this is your moment to be seen.
Sunday is the Banshee Scream Contest. Step forward and loose a cry that chills the spine, rattles the bones, and makes the surrounding villagers glance nervously over their shoulders. Judges are listening for commitment, character, and that unmistakable quality that sounds like it came from beyond the veil. Volume helps. Volume is not sufficient.
Come in wings. Come in thorns. Come in flowers. Or come as you are and let the fairy court do the work.
