Explore the Little House
This summer, KidsPlay invites families to Imagine More, Create More, and Innovate More with weekly exhibit themes, hands-on activities, and familiar favorites throughout the museum. Each week highlights a different exhibit area and gives families new ways to enjoy indoor summer play.
During Little House Week, children explore history, imagination, and development as they step into a pioneer-inspired world. Families can imagine daily life in a simple home, take on pretend family roles, and experience the rhythms of early homestead living through hands-on play.
Children can engage in everyday chores, care for a shared household, and explore what life may have been like in a time of limited modern conveniences. Through role play and open-ended exploration, they build connections to history while developing creativity, cooperation, and storytelling skills.
Little House Week encourages children to slow down, work together, and imagine life in a different time and place through meaningful, immersive play.
Activities are included with museum admission unless otherwise noted.
