On Education in Prison: Landscape, Successes, and Challenges

book tickets now learn more

Come hear about the landscape, successes and challenges of prison education today.  Joining us will be Dr. Kaia Stern, Lecturer at the Harvard Graduate School of Education and Director of Justice Initiatives at the Public Works Alliance. She is the cofounder of Harvard's Prison Studies Project, and has been learning/teaching in and about U.S. jails and prisons for 30 years. We will utilize The Circle Way to engage in the conversation, beginning with a quick grounding and moving through conversations about structure, access, and outcomes. Formerly incarcerated program alumni will share their "on the ground" experiences and provide insight into the changes that need to be made. We invite you to join this engaging conversation.
