Concert: Thinning of the Veil
“Thinning of the Veil: songs to reconnect with the lost” is a moving concert experience that incorporates the beauty of dance with the ethereal sound of choral singing. This concert will explore the stories, lore, and experiences of the veil between the world of the living and dead to allow space to process loss, feel comfort, and find connection. The performance will feature performances by Voices of Concinnity, Connecticut’s versatile vocal chamber ensemble based in Mansfield, and special guest Ekklesia Contemporary Ballet and includes choral works by Caroline Shaw, Florence Price, Eric Whitacre, Ethel Smyth, Heinrich Schütz, the Beatles, and more. On a night where the veil between the living and the afterlife is thin, may the voices of Concinnity and the movement of dance reconnect us with ones we have lost.
Concert is Saturday, March 29, 20254 at 7:00pm at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Hebron, CT. Tickets are $20/students free (part of the Sanctuary Performing Arts Series).
