"Common Threads: Fiber Arts in 1850s Waterford"

Baa Baa Black Sheep, have you any wool? Yessir! Yessir!

Sharing their vast knowledge of fiber arts from samplers to sails, sheep farming and much more, the Dirty Blue Shirts living historians will bring the past to life in the Waterford Historical Society’s buildings and around Jordan Green.

Hands-on activities will allow visitors to full, card and spin wool, make rope, mend a canvas sail and learn about Women and Textiles at Sea.

The buildings will be open for tours. At the blacksmith shop visitors can observe the smiths crafting useful and decorative hand-forged steel items, some of which will be available for sale.
