Coffee Cupping & Conversation with Lucia Bawot at Victus Coffee

Join Victus Coffee for a communal cupping and a conversation and Q&A with Lucia Bawot, author of “We Belong: An Anthology of Colombian Women Coffee Farmers,” on November 23, 2024, from 10:00 am-12:00 pm.

Her book brings to light the life stories of 25 Colombian women coffee farmers and pickers. Through Bawot’s lens, the common, one-dimensional portrayal of a female coffee producer as just that—a woman toiling in a coffee field—is shattered, vividly revealing the full spectrum of their human experiences. We’ll be sharing stories from the book, along with Q&A time with Lucia.

In the spirit of celebrating the global coffee community, the event will also include a communal coffee cupping. We’re inviting coffee roasters, shops, and baristas to bring a coffee to share on the cupping table! We ask that participants be ready to share why this coffee has meaning to you or the story behind the cup. Limited coffee spots are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
