Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Ella Grasso's Inauguration
Connecticut Capitol Information and Tours invites you to celebrate the incredible career of Governor Ella Grasso on the 50th Anniversary of her historic inauguration.
January of 2025 marks the 50th Anniversary of Ella Grasso's historic inauguration as Governor of Connecticut. Grasso was the first woman elected governor in Connecticut and the first woman elected governor in her own right in the United States.
Please join Capitol Information and Tours and the League of Women Voters of Connecticut as we celebrate this important anniversary on January 22nd, 2025 at 10:00 am in Memorial Hall at the Connecticut State Library.
We will hear about Ella's life and her incredible career in politics from keynote speaker Lieutenant Governor Susan Bysiewicz followed by interactive activities.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to see historical artifacts from Governor Grasso's political career.
Light refreshments will be served. This event is free and open to the public.
