CATAPOOLOOZA

Stratford Animal Care & Control will host CATAPOOLOOZA, a special evening celebrating shelter cats and kittens, on Thursday, September 10, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Stratford Animal Care & Control facility, 225 Beacon Point Road, Stratford, Connecticut.

The event will give members of the community an opportunity to visit the shelter, meet adoptable cats and kittens, learn more about the animals in its care and support the shelter’s ongoing efforts to provide medical care, enrichment and supplies to animals awaiting homes.

A highlight of CATAPOOLOOZA will be a Kitten Shower in the shelter’s Community Room, complete with cake and refreshments. With many kittens currently in the shelter’s care, guests will have an opportunity to view the kittens, with possible interaction as appropriate.

Visitors will also be able to enjoy Outdoor Catio Viewing with the “Fab 4” — Lyric, Zara, Peanut and Schnitzel. Refreshments and snacks will be available while guests visit the four cats in their outdoor space. The shelter’s cattery will also be open for viewing throughout the event.

Adoption Fees Waived

In an effort to help more cats and kittens find homes, adoption fees for all cats and kittens will be waived during CATAPOOLOOZA.

Those seriously considering adoption are strongly encouraged to submit an application before the event. Priority will be given to prospective adopters who have completed an adoption application in advance.

Kitten Shower Registry

A suggested donation of $20 per person is requested to attend CATAPOOLOOZA. In lieu of the suggested donation, guests may bring or show a receipt for an item purchased from the shelter’s Kitten Shower Registry.

Items donated through the registry will help Stratford Animal Care & Control provide necessary supplies for the kittens currently in its care and those that will arrive at the shelter in the weeks ahead.
