The popular annual Cabin Fever Charity Chowder Cook Off returns to Olde Mistick Village on Saturday, February 28th, 2026 from 12:00 to 4:00 pm
Olde Mistick Village will once again host its signature annual charity event, the 20th annual Cabin Fever Charity Chowder Cook-Off. It will take place on Saturday, February 28, from 12 noon to 4pm. Awards and check presentation ceremony will be at 5pm. This four-hour event will bring nearly10,000 patrons to Olde Mistick Village where they will enjoy dozens of delicious, savory, and hearty chowders from many local restaurants and eateries. Over 26,000 cups of chowder will be served!
All proceeds for this event benefit Always Home, a non-profit agency dedicated to preventing family homelessness throughout Southeastern CT. For the past 25 years, Always Home has provided case management services and emergency housing assistance to local families with minor children that are at risk of becoming homeless. Each year Always Home assists over 400 families to sustain housing. Through various supportive services and case management, Always Home gives a hand up to those families in need, and provides stability at a most critical time in their lives. It is always in the best interest of the family, particularly with young children, to avoid the trauma of emergency shelter. Always Home works to find families safe, secure housing with the supportive services necessary to achieve long-term housing stability.
This winter day will be filled with family fun and community support! Many of the area’s finest restaurants, caterers, and eateries will serve up their signature chowder from the warmth of the shops in Olde Mistick Village. A team of local judges will choose the winners in four categories: 1) Most Creative Chowder 2) Heartiest Chowder 3) Best use of regional ingredients, and 4) Tastiest Chowder. Via individual ballot, the public will vote for the winner of the coveted “People’s Choice Award” for Best overall Chowder! All awards will be presented in the Meeting House/Chapel, in Olde Mistick Village at 5:00pm.
We are so excited to once again to bring this great event to our community. With the generous participation of Olde Mistick Village Merchants and Management, Local Restaurants and Volunteers, as well as the continued support from our patrons and community, the Cabin Fever Charity Cook-Off will continue to assist many families and children in need. Please join us in supporting this worthy cause.
