BEING SEEN - The Art of Self-Representation by 46 artists
BEING SEEN is an exploration of identity, presence, and self-reflection. Featuring works by 46 artists from our region and community, this exhibition goes beyond traditional portraiture to ask: What does it truly mean to see - and to be seen?
A self-portrait is more than a likeness; it is an act of discovery. In BEING SEEN, artists investigate the self through a range of media, from painting and photography to sculpture and mixed media. Some depict their physical image, while others delve into memory, emotion, concern, or imagination to express who they are.
Each work becomes both a mirror and a window—sometimes reflecting the artist’s inner world, sometimes offering a glimpse into more profound truths. Together, these portraits invite viewers to consider not just how we see others, but how we come to see ourselves.
