Author Talk: Four Arrows by Clare McCarthy

BPL is excited to host Clare McCarthy, local author of Four Arrows. Her novel is a tale of literary magical realism spanning three decades of queer history, where the power to heal comes at an impossible cost. Tender, unflinching, and quietly devastating, Four Arrows is a story of what isolates us, what binds us together, and the price of choosing connection over safety.

Clare will discuss her inspiration for writing the book, the writing and research process, and her experience as a CT author. She will also read from her book and answer questions from the audience. Books will be available for purchase. Clare is an educator, author, podcaster, and passionate transgender advocate. Having retired after 33 years as a teacher of Latin and the Classical Humanities, she started Transqat Enterprises, a trans advocacy LLC. She is the producer and host of Transqat the Podcast, a safe space for respectful conversations about trans issues and queer people.
