Annual Julia Q. Keggi Lecture: Pre-Raphaelite Women Artists and the Intersection of Painting, Needlework and Amateur Science

Hear from Isabella Galdone, a PhD candidate at Yale University, specializing in 19th-century British painting and material culture. This lecture will dive into part of her dissertation project, titled Pre-Raphaelite Women Artists and the Intersection of Painting, Needlework and Amateur Science, which situates the work of artists Rosa Brett, Elizabeth Siddall and Joanna Mary Boyce within a landscape of connections between artistic representation, craft practice and popular engagement with natural science. Light refreshments will be provided.
