America’s Tapestry | Community Stitch
Come and Stitch History!
America’s Tapestry is a unique project featuring 13 hand-embroidered panels, one for each of the original colonies, illustrating the diverse stories of individual contributions—many overlooked—in the struggle for American independence. Stitched over 12 months, volunteers will complete the panels in time for America’s 250th anniversary in 2026. The Museum’s visitors are invited to contribute stitches to the Connecticut tapestry or observe stitchers as they work. Whether you’re a novice or an experienced stitcher, all are welcome. Materials will be supplied!
