A homeschool program to be held at Windsor Historical Society, March 24, 10 AM to 12 PM and 1 to 3 PM for students ages 8-11 will explore the Society’s new exhibit, “For the Common Good: 250 Years of Windsor Civic Life”, which honors the 250 anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. The exhibit celebrates the bold, creative, and determined ways residents have shaped civic life, from organizing community festivals to leading movements for justice and equality. Through powerful stories and vivid images and artifacts, students will discover how generations of Windsorites have worked, protested, volunteered, and celebrated together to build a stronger, more inclusive community.

“I think it’s important for students to realize that they can make a difference,” says Windsor Historical Society Program Manager, Heather Lodge. “Kids can often feel powerless, but we hope to inspire them through this program with examples of everyday, local people who helped make their community a better place over the past 250 years.”

Spots for this program are limited. Pre-registration is encouraged at https://windsorhistoricalsociety.org/event/homeschool-day-for-the-commo….  $10 per student.

This program is part of Windsor Historical Society’s WindsorCT250 commemoration activities. For more information, visit WindsorHistoricalSociety.org or email [email protected].
