64th Annual Mark Twain Library Book Fair

The oldest – and one of the largest and most organized – book fairs in New England hosted by and benefiting the library founded by Mark Twain, himself! Highlights this year include books from the estate of Mary Travers of folk legends Peter, Paul and Mary! Travers lived in Redding - just like the library's founder. Twain moved to Redding, CT, in 1907 and had more books than would fit in his new home. He donated over one thousand titles to help get the Library started; and upon his death, his daughter Clara donated more for sale to build on his fledgling legacy in Redding. Today, more than 100 years later, the Book Fair is still one of the Library’s principal fundraisers and a mainstay each Labor Day Weekend for this quaint town.
