2GHG Fall Festival
Admission: Free (Donations welcome)
Come spend the day with the 2GHG’s horses and troopers as we celebrate community, history, and the traditions of Connecticut’s historic cavalry. This family‑friendly event offers fun for all ages, featuring:
- Live horse shows
- Pony rides
- Interactive cavalry history displays
- Face painting
- Games and kids’ activities
- Local vendors and crafts
- Food trucks
- Pet adoption opportunities
Throughout the afternoon, guests will have the opportunity to meet the troopers, learn about the unit’s mission, and enjoy hands‑on experiences that highlight the heritage of one of the nation’s oldest active cavalry units.
“The goal of the Fall Festival is to welcome members and families of Newtown and surrounding communities, introduce them to our troopers and horses, and offer a firsthand experience of who the 2GHG is and our role in the community and state. It’s a fun day for kids and an educational day for all…” ~ LT Colonel Gordon Johnson, 2GHG
Bring your friends, bring your family—rain or shine—and enjoy a day celebrating Connecticut’s living cavalry tradition.
