Ladies, if you’ve had “plan a girl’s getaway” on your to-do list forever, consider this your sign to “just book it!” We’re sharing the perfect weekend itinerary for your next bachelorette party, milestone birthday or just a plain old weekend of girl time. Read on for our staff-tested must-visit destinations!
Start Your Weekend Off Right
To start your weekend off on the right note, we highly recommend booking a spa treatment at the Spa at Norwich Inn in Norwich, CT. They offer a variety of treatments ranging from massages to fancy manicures and pedicures to facials and body wraps. The great thing is, once you have a treatment booked, you automatically gain spa access for the day, which includes a private indoor pool, a jacuzzi, a hot tub, a “relaxation room” (more on that in a moment!) and optional hydromassages for an additional charge. There is also a juice bar that serves delicious fresh squeezed juices, smoothies and other light bites, as well as mimosas, wine and other libations. For the ultimate relaxation trifecta, we’d recommend donning the decadent cozy robe they provide, grabbing yourself a cocktail and then cozying up with a good book under a blanket on one of their ergonomic chairs in the aforementioned relaxation room. Ahhhh…
Get Ready For A Night Out
After you’ve had your fill of relaxation, it’s time to get ready for a night out! Mohegan Sun is just across the street from the Spa and offers dining options to suite every taste. For a girls weekend, you can’t go wrong with some Mexican and margs at Sol Toro or some Asian Fusion and martinis at Tao!
Cozy Up
Rest your head for the evening at the locally owned Villa Signor, which is on the grounds of the Spa at Norwich Inn but features its own private pool (in the summer months) and cozy villas with their own kitchens and outdoor space.
Downtown Stroll
On day two of your trip, wake up refreshed and then head to nearby Mystic for breakfast and some strolling downtown. We recommend Sift Bakeshop for coffee and a sweet breakfast treat. We highly recommend the chocolate croissant, though you really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu! Next up, hit a few of our favorite shops downtown, including Adore, (Mystic is about a 25-minute drive from Norwich).
Wine, Wine.... and More Wine
End your perfect weekend with a glass of local wine and some live music at one of three nearby vineyards in Stonington, CT. Jonathan Edwards, Stonington Vineyards and Saltwater Farm vineyards all offer tastings on the weekends and often have live music and food trucks onsite. Check their schedules online to know before you go!
