(Bring your camera or sketch book.)

Individuals, families, and groups are welcome. This relaxing self-guided tour through Ashford, Coventry, Mansfield and Willington in the beautiful hills of northeastern Connecticut is free.

Willow Tree Pottery, Ashford

Wander the rustic gardens and visit the studio. See the outdoor Roman arch kiln. Enjoy sculptural ceramics by Barbara Katz, handmade cheese boards and flower presses by Gretchen Geromin and Lauren Merlo, and pottery from host Suzy Staubach. Visitors can choose an amulet to take home.

Old Brooklyn Meeting House of 1771, Brooklyn

In 1770, Israel Putnam led the vote for a new, larger Congregational meetinghouse. Land-owner Godfrey Malbone was excused from taxation by building an Anglican church. Later doctrinal conflicts led to the orthodox Congregationalists constructing another church. By 1845, Unitarians moved the sanctuary upstairs and rented out the meetinghouse ground floor as a Town Hall. But the 1938 hurricane led to the gutting and restoration of the pew layout of 1771.

Hours: 11:00-3:00. Free.
