Join the Hotchkiss Library of Sharon for CT Visit Open House Day! Explore our historic library, discover programs for all ages, and sign up for news and events. Enjoy a special free presentation at 11am on Bald Eagles by wildlife expert Ginny Apple, Master Wildlife Conservationist, whose work spans Connecticut's diverse species and conservation efforts. A perfect day to connect, learn, and be inspired.

Don't miss these attractions in your own backyard! Torrington Historical Society will be offering free admission from 12-4 pm to the first floor of the Hotchkiss-Fyler House Museum (built 1900), a grand Victorian home featuring impressive woodwork and interior treatments. Also free will be two award-winning exhibits: "No Place Like Home: The History of Torrington" and "Pursuit of Precision: The Hendey Machine Company 1870-1954". 

As part of the 22nd annual Connecticut Open House Day, visit the Institute for American Indian Studies to learn about the more than 12,500-year history of Connecticut's Indigenous inhabitants. Museum educators and docents will be offering introductory tours of the museum and replicated Algonkian village. Want a deeper dive? Test out your understanding of local Native American history and culture through our "Quest Across Quinnetukut" trivia game.

Explore the Matland Preserve, 72 forested acres on the south slope of iconic Tarradiddle Mountain in West Cornwall. It features varied terrain, views, and interesting geological features. Event starts at 10 a.m.

The Museum & Garden will present an open house from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm. The main floor of the historic Glebe House will be open for self-guided tours with costumed docents available to answer questions. Garden volunteers will be on hand to answer questions about the Gertrude Jekyll Garden and the current restoration. 

Experience lacemaking during the Revolution with a special exhibition and demonstrations by the New England Lace Group, presented from 1:00 - 4:00 pm.

The Andante String Quartet will give a concert at the Leroy Anderson House on Saturday, June 13, 2026, 3:00 p.m. The concert will take place on the lawn of the Leroy Anderson House, 33 Grassy Hill Road, Woodbury, Connecticut. Admission is free. No pets. Bring folding chairs.

The Leroy Anderson House will be open for guided tours from 11 am to 2 pm on Saturday, June 13 and from 11 am to 5 pm on Sunday, June 14, 2026. Admission is free.
