The Voice of Art's “Fine Art Festival" in Sharon on the Green

September 21-22

The Voice of Art is thrilled to invite you to its fourth annual outdoor juried fine art show, “Fine Art Festival" in Sharon on the Green (formerly known as Litchfield Art Festival)!  This show will be a highlight for collectors and residents from the Tri-State region, New England and beyond.

Sculpture Garden, The Norwalk Art Space

The Sculpture Garden contains one permanent sculpture and three rotating sculptures that aim to inspire interaction and conversation in an artistic, welcoming environment.

Lincoln Financial Sculpture Walk, Riverfront Recapture

Lincoln comes to life, in the form of sculptures, along the Connecticut River. His early years and legacy are reflected through artists’ eyes.

Newtown Arts Festival

This three-day art event focuses on bringing the community together to enjoy local talent in art, dance, music, and food.

Solitary Garden at Florence Griswold Museum

Artist Jackie Sumell uses social practice through her national garden initiative to cultivate conversations about incarceration. Her work reveals the experience of solitary confinement and the capacity of art and nature to heal people and society. 

Art Walk at Evergreen Walk

Come stroll through the shops and immerse yourself in a world of creativity and imagination crafted by talented local artists! This colorful spectacle is part of an ongoing collaboration between The Shops at Evergreen Walk and RiseUP for Arts, a nonprofit dedicated to making art accessible to everyone in Connecticut.

From Art Colony to Connecticut Collection: Highlights from the FloGris Museum

"From Art Colony to Connecticut Collection" at the Florence Griswold Museum showcases highlights from the museum's collection, celebrating Connecticut's rich art history from its roots as an artist colony to modern artistic expressions.

"Raíces y Colores: A Tapestry of Latinx Identity"

September 12 - 29

The Judy Black Memorial Park and Gardens is pleased to welcome an art show in honor of National Hispanic Heritage month, "Raíces y Colores: A Tapestry of Latinx Identity," on view beginning Thursday, September 12.

This exhibit highlights works from a collection of seven emerging Latino artists with an aim to celebrate the culture and contributions of Latino Americans in the artistic sphere, and includes works by seven emerging artists.

Slipping Glimpser

Kenise Barnes Fine Art is pleased to announce the new exhibition featuring painters Susan English, Julie Gross, and Audrey Stone. All three women have distinguished careers centered around their use of color and abstraction.

Marvin Espy: Up from the Asphalt

July 13 - October 20

Reflecting on the senseless killing of George Floyd and the universality of human experience, Marvin Espy presents new and recent paintings in Up from the Asphalt. Using Maslow’s hierarchy of needs as a framework for processing the painful last minutes of George Floyd’s life on May 25, 2020, Espy’s paintings and words offer us a pathway to unite in mourning, stand in resolve, and share in our hopes.  

Spirit of Resilience: Art & Artifact

August 24 - October 28

Reception: Saturday August 26, 4 - 6 PM, public This exhibit pairs small quilts by Connecticut-based and internationally renowned fabric artist Ed Johnetta Miller with artifacts in the museum collection that directly connect to the Canterbury Female Boarding School.

 

New England Landscape

September 13 - October 24

Lyme Art Association (LAA) is proud to announce New England Landscape goes on view September 13. This annual exhibition celebrates the rich and varied beauty of the East Coast. From autumn leaves to summer trees, from lonely roads to rolling hills, LAA member artists visually explored their connection to this extraordinary land.

Threaded Together

September 4 - October 27

For the 2024-2025 season, Tremaine Art Gallery joins The Hotchkiss School in its celebration of 50 Years of Coeducation, kicking off with Threaded Together: Alumnae Artists Share a Moment. This exhibition features works by twenty alumnae artists.

Entre Mundos: Art of Abiayala

September 13–December 15

"Entre Mundos: Art of Abiayala" unites works from artists connected to Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America, spanning from ancient times to the present. These artists, sharing personal or ancestral ties to these regions, offer unique insights into their cultural and artistic practices. The exhibition features a diverse range of mediums, including textiles, furniture, ceramics, and paintings, all selected for their exploration of spiritual themes.

Reading Signs: Jasper Johns and Glenn Ligon in Print

September 18 - December 11

Wesleyan University’s Pruzan Art Center, the new art venue in the center of campus, will highlight prints from the Davison Art Collection by Jasper Johns and Glenn Ligon ’82, Hon. ’12. The exhibition will open on Wednesday, September 18, 2024 at 4:30 p.m. and will be on display through Wednesday, December 11, 2024.

Vik Muniz: Extra-Ordinary

October 6 2024 - Februrary 23, 2025

Endlessly playful and inventive in his approach, Vik Muniz harnesses a remarkable virtuosity in creating his renowned “photographic delusions.” Presented by the New Britain Museum of American Art.
