Celebrate Connecticut Open House Day in Fairfield County 2025

It's the 21st anniversary of Connecticut Open House Day! That's twenty one years of celebrating the unique array of attractions that make the state so special. Check out what Fairfield County has to offer.

c. 1750 Ogden House, Fairfield

Enjoy free admission from 10 am to 4 pm at the c. 1750 Ogden House (located at 1520 Bronson Road in Fairfield, CT). Discover see how people lived in the 1700s in this saltbox house built for the Ogden family. Between 1 and 3 pm, stroll through the historic Dooryard Garden, enjoy hands-on activities, and experience a living history demonstration.

Boothe Memorial Park and Museum, Stratford

Boothe Memorial Park's unusual and beautiful buildings will be open the othe public as well as our award winning rose garden.

There will be free admission and the buildings will be open from 10am-12pm.
 

Charles Federer entire room Mural, Danbury

The Danbury “Old” Library is home to the last example of Charles Federer’s mural in Danbury. This 1935 artwork encompasses almost the entire first floor of the building. While experiencing this breathtaking work, there will be representatives of the myriad of artistic and cultural organizations which calls Danbury home. The Main Street will be a pedestrian Street festival from noon to four.

Fairfield Museum & History Center, Fairfield

The Fairfield Museum & History Center will be offering free admission on Saturday, June 14 for CT Open House Day. From 10 am to 4 pm at the Fairfield Museum and History Center, explore historic properties and try hands-on activities on the Museum Commons. More than 400 years of diverse stories can be found in the Victorian Barn, Sun Tavern, and Victorian Cottage, which has a dedicated early childhood space.

Fairfield Old Academy, Fairfield

Please join us for our Open House at the Old Academy Reproduction of 1800's classroom.

From 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Old Academy, Town Green, Fairfield, CT.
 

Full Room Children's Story Mural, Danbury

The "old" library is home to the last Charles Federer mural in Danbury. It is a rare work by this Bethel artist and illustrator. This mural covers the entire room and depicts hundreds of story book characters in what was the children's room of the public library. Free.

Keeler Tavern Museum & History Center, Ridgefield

On Connecticut Open House Day, visitors get free site admission at Keeler Tavern Museum & History Center! Take a tour of our historic house and learn about centuries of site stories; visit our current exhibitions and activities in the carriage barn; and explore our four-acre grounds and historic walled garden, featuring brick walkways, lush greenery, and beautiful June flowers.

LEGO Club, Stratford

On the day of CT Open House the Stratford Library will offer a LEGO Club at 2 pm. Ages 5 to 12. The program meets in the Children's Program Room. Children will be given individual LEGO's to create anything they choose.

Museum of Darien invites the public to visit on CT Open House Day to take a free docent led tour of our Colonial Bates-Schofield house, see our Darien Dresses Up! costume exhibit spanning 100 years of fashion, participate in a family friendly flower craft highlighting the importance of our historic herb and flower garden and more.

Pequot Library Association, Fairfield

Join us for the 21st annual CT Open House Day, organized by the CT Office of Tourism. All are welcome to visit Pequot Library, Fairfield’s non-profit/association public library located in the harborside village of Southport. Enjoy the current exhibition, Treasured Tomes: Rare Books and their Collectors, a guided walking tour of Southport, children’s self-guided activities, check-out a book, relax in our historic reading rooms, and more.

Rowayton Arts Center, Norwalk

An Exhibiting Members show at the Rowayton Arts Center (RAC), “Community Sponsored Awards,” will be on view June 14 from 10 am to 1 pm. The artwork in this exhibition will feature local scenes with cash prizes for award recipients thanks to individuals and merchants in the area. There is no fee for entry and refreshments will be served.

RAC celebrates the study, creation and appreciation of the arts through classes, exhibitions and events open to all in the community. For over 60 years, this nonprofit organization has been a cultural gem in Rowayton, CT. The gallery and art school overlook the scenic Five Mile River at 145 Rowayton Avenue with space for regional artists to exhibit their art and a classroom for workshops and classes at all levels offered to children and adults. The Historical Society is comprised of the Northrop House Museum (18th century local furnishings, revolving exhibit), historic barn with a farming exhibit, Roger Sherman's Cobbler Shop, which houses a shoemaker's display and old school room, and The Old Store Museum & Gift Shop, which is half old store museum and half Society's non-profit gift shop that supports the Society
