Simsbury Summer Theatre for Youth presents: Annie
Simsbury Summer Theatre is thrilled to celebrate their 60th show with a production of "Annie", a family-friendly theatrical experience that promises to captivate audiences with its story of hope and optimism. This heartwarming production is set to take the stage at Simsbury High School from July 31st to August 2nd. “Annie” is licensed by Music Theatre International.
With equal measures of pluck and positivity, little orphan Annie charms everyone's hearts despite a next-to-nothing start in 1930s New York City. She is determined to find the parents who abandoned her years ago on the doorstep of a New York City Orphanage that is run by the cruel, embittered Miss Hannigan (played by Ginny DeCerbo). With the help of the other girls in the Orphanage, Annie (played by Savannah Connors) escapes to the wondrous world of NYC. In adventure after fun-filled adventure, Annie foils Miss Hannigan's evil machinations... and even befriends President Franklin Delano Roosevelt (played by Arlo Groeschner)! She finds a new home and family in billionaire Oliver Warbucks (played by Austin Espinoza), his personal secretary, Grace Farrell (played by Haleigh Whitehouse), and a lovable mutt named Sandy (played by Maeve).
Performances are held at the Simsbury High School auditorium located at 34 Farms Village Rd, Simsbury, CT, on Thursday, July 31st at 7 p.m., Friday, August 1st at 7 p.m., and Saturday, August 2nd at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.
