Description: The reading of all 135 chapters of "Moby-Dick" begins at noon on July 31 and continues overnight, concluding at noon on Aug. 1, Melville's birthday. Visitors are invited to participate in the marathon, which includes the night aboard the "Charles W. Morgan," the last wooden whaleship in the world.

As art, these needlework pictures and useful household objects burst with color, imaginative design, and evidence of close observation.
